Burn Subtitles into Video Online Free — PrivaTools

TL;DR: Upload a video plus an .srt subtitle file and download a copy with subtitles burned into the picture.

Add subtitles to video online for free — burn .srt or .vtt subtitle files directly into MP4/MOV videos. Permanent overlays viewable on any player.

Like the rest of the 179-tool PrivaTools suite, Burn Subtitles into Video is MIT-licensed and self-hostable. The public demo deletes your file as soon as the response leaves the server — verifiable in the open-source codebase on GitHub.

How to Use Burn Subtitles into Video

  1. Upload a video — Drop an MP4/MOV/MKV file up to 500 MB.
  2. Upload an SRT subtitle file — Standard SubRip Text format with timestamps and dialogue.
  3. Choose to burn-in or soft-encode and download — Burn-in: subtitles are rendered into the video pixels (permanent, plays everywhere). Soft: subtitles are a separate track (toggleable in supporting players).
